About Peyton Englewood
About Peyton Englewood
Peyton Englewood is a seasonal design studio rooted in a love of old houses, beautiful materials, and the traditions that make a season feel like itself.
Founded by designer April Budney, the studio brings together years of experience in brand building, product development, consumer packaged goods, decorating, and creating distinctive seasonal environments for homes, business and retail establishments.
Peyton Englewood is where those interests meet: designer ribbon, handmade bows, fresh wreaths and garlands, seasonal objects, and select decorating projects, all shaped by a strong point of view and a deep appreciation for the feeling of home.
A Name Rooted in Home
The name Peyton Englewood comes from the streets of our childhoods.
Peyton Avenue is here in Haddonfield, New Jersey. Englewood comes from the Midwest.
Two streets, from two different places, brought together in a name that felt right for a studio so closely connected to memory, home, family, and tradition.
There is something about the places we grow up that stays with us. The houses. The trees. The way a neighborhood looks in December. The things our families brought out year after year.
Peyton Englewood was named with that feeling in mind.
The Art of the Season
At Peyton Englewood, seasonal decorating is not about replacing everything each year or chasing the newest trend.
It is about creating a home that feels layered over time.
A length of tartan brought out every December. A velvet bow saved from one Christmas to the next. Magnolia gathered from the garden. Brass bells, pinecones, evergreen, old ornaments, beautiful ribbon, and pieces that begin to carry their own memories.
We are drawn to things with character.
English country houses. Historic American homes. Equestrian influences. Botanical elements. Plaids and velvets. Rich colors. Natural materials. Old holiday photographs. Handwritten notes. Slightly imperfect objects that look as though they have always belonged there.
The result is seasonal design that feels warm, collected, traditional, and personal rather than overly coordinated or mass produced.
A Life in Design
Peyton Englewood did not begin with a single wreath or a sudden interest in holiday decorating.
Design has been part of April’s work for years.
Her experience spans product development, visual art direction, styling, retail, interiors, branding, seasonal window displays, and decorating projects. She has spent years thinking about how color, material, scale, architecture, and atmosphere work together, whether developing a product, styling a room, creating a storefront, or designing an entire holiday exterior.
That background shapes the way Peyton Englewood approaches every project.
A house is never just a backdrop for decorations. Its architecture matters. Its proportions matter. The people who live there matter.
A ribbon is never chosen simply because it is pretty. Its color, texture, width, movement, and relationship to everything around it matter too.
The same eye that goes into a large seasonal installation also goes into selecting and designing a single ribbon for the shop.
That is the thread that connects everything we do.
What We Offer
The Peyton Englewood shop is built around materials and objects we genuinely want to use ourselves.
Our ribbon collection includes designer velvets, plaids, tartans, trims, metallics, and seasonal patterns selected for their color, texture, quality, and ability to transform a wreath, garland, tree, mantel, or arrangement.
Many of our ribbons have wired edges to help hold their shape, making them especially beautiful for bows and seasonal decorating.
Our handmade bows are created from carefully selected textiles including velvet, tartan, wool, and Harris Tweed. They are designed to feel more like a decorative object than a disposable finishing touch.
Over time, Peyton Englewood will continue to introduce original ribbon designs, seasonal collections, decorative pieces, and other objects developed in the studio.
We would rather offer a smaller collection of things we love than a large assortment simply for the sake of having more.
Fresh Wreaths & Garlands
Fresh greenery is also an important part of Peyton Englewood.
Each holiday season, we will offer a limited collection of fresh wreaths and garlands designed with the same eye we bring to our interiors, ribbon, and seasonal installations.
These are not intended to be the standard wreaths and garlands available everywhere during the holidays.
Our approach is fuller, more textural, and more distinctive.
We are drawn to combinations of beautiful evergreen, cedar, magnolia, pine, boxwood, berries, pinecones, ribbon, and unexpected botanical elements, with each design created to feel abundant, natural, and appropriate to the home around it.
Some pieces may be restrained and tailored. Others may be wild, generous, and layered.
The goal is always the same: fresh holiday greenery that feels special enough to become part of the house itself.
Quantities will remain limited, allowing us to focus on quality, materials, and design rather than volume.
Seasonal Design
Peyton Englewood also takes on a limited number of seasonal decorating projects for private homes, businesses, storefronts, and historic properties.
These may include holiday entrances, window wreaths, exterior garlands, storefront installations, mantels, staircases, and complete seasonal design concepts.
Every project begins with the architecture.
We look at the scale of the house, the color of the exterior, the shape of the doorway, the windows, the landscape, and the way the building is experienced from the street.
From there, we create a design that feels specific to that place.
Sometimes that means tailored wreaths and beautiful evergreen garland. Sometimes it means tartan, magnolia, brass bells, fruit, pinecones, velvet ribbon, or something a little unexpected.
We have designed seasonal concepts for historic homes, private residences, businesses, public spaces, and community properties, with projects ranging from understated entrances to large-scale holiday installations.
The goal is never to add decoration simply for the sake of adding more.
It is to find the idea that belongs to that house.
The best seasonal decorating should feel as though it could not have belonged anywhere else.
Behind the Studio
April has spent much of her career building brands, developing products, shaping visual identities, and creating things for other people to bring into their homes.
Peyton Englewood represents a return to the part of that work she loves most: the ideas.
The studio is intentionally small.
There is freedom in being able to follow an interesting material, develop a ribbon simply because it should exist, study an old Christmas photograph, sketch a storefront, experiment with a new way of using evergreen, or spend months thinking about how one collection should come together.
That slower, more personal approach shapes everything Peyton Englewood does.
Not every season needs a new collection. Not every idea needs to become a product. And not every beautiful thing needs to be available everywhere.
We believe there is still value in discovery, scarcity, craftsmanship, and finding something that feels a little special.
From Our House to Yours
Peyton Englewood is based in Haddonfield, New Jersey, a town of old houses, mature trees, and a strong sense of place that continually influences the studio.
Our work is also shaped by gardens, historic homes, flea markets, old books, textiles, travel, family traditions, architecture, and the changing landscape outside the window.
Those stories will continue in the Peyton Englewood Journal, where we will share seasonal ideas, houses and projects, materials we love, decorating notes, behind-the-scenes work from the studio, and the inspiration behind future collections.
Because Peyton Englewood is ultimately about more than decorating for a holiday.
It is about noticing the season you are in.
And making something beautiful of it.
